Angel Fire cabins for big groups: five homes that sleep 12 to 17

Ham Heritage manages five cabins and lodges in Angel Fire that sleep 12 or more. Overlook Oasis, a log cabin, sleeps 17. Snowmass Lodge sleeps 16, and Five Elks Lodge sleeps 15. 3 Bears Cabin sleeps 13 and D-Cabin sleeps 12. They're listed alongside all eight Angel Fire homes we manage. A group of 8 or fewer can fit in one of our condos, which we cover in our article on Angel Fire condo rentals.

Altitude and winter roads in Angel Fire

Angel Fire Resort's base sits at 8,600 feet, and the resort advises anyone arriving from a lower elevation that they may need time to adjust. The winter lift season usually runs from mid-December to late March. For winter travelers, the house rules at each home we manage recommend a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, or else snow tires with chains. The in-between months are April and November, when crowds thin out and booking is easy. Taos and Red River are each about 45 minutes from any of these homes, which puts them in day-trip range. For what's open the rest of the year, see our season-by-season Angel Fire guide.

The two biggest: Snowmass Lodge and Overlook Oasis

Snowmass Lodge is 4 minutes from Angel Fire Resort, under a mile. It puts 10 beds in 6 bedrooms, with 4 baths. The lodge has two stocked kitchens, on the ground and main floors, plus two living rooms. The ground-floor bedrooms get their own way in, through the back sliding door, and a second parking area. There's parking for 6 cars. It has a hot tub, along with a covered deck and a fire pit. For kids there's a playroom, and the house has two pack-n-plays plus baby stair gates.

This picture is ours, and it shows the lodge where a post-stay damage inspection gets done for us after every stay.

Overlook Oasis is a log cabin with the same bedroom and bed count as Snowmass Lodge, and the same number of baths. It has a pair of stocked kitchens too, along with a fire pit and a loft. The deck wraps around, and the cabin has mountain views. Plan on 8 to 10 minutes to reach the resort, and the same to the Country Club or Monte Verde Lake.

The Overlook Oasis image is ours as well, and this cabin is one our dedicated home care partner inspects weekly.

Five Elks Lodge

Five Elks Lodge has 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, and its bed count matches the two bigger homes. Inside are a stone fireplace and vaulted wood ceilings. Kids get a playroom, and there's croquet. The resort is 10 minutes away, while Monte Verde Lake and the Country Club are each 4. You reach the main floor and entrance here by stairs, so make sure that works for everyone in your group before you book.

3 Bears Cabin and D-Cabin

3 Bears Cabin fits 8 beds, some of them bunks, into 4 bedrooms, and it has 3 baths. There's a pool table and foosball, plus a sun room and decks with mountain views. From 3 Bears Cabin it's 12 minutes to the resort and 6 to Monte Verde Lake.

D-Cabin's 5 bedrooms come with 2.5 baths and as many beds as 3 Bears Cabin. It also has a pool table, along with a fireplace, a grill and a huge deck. The resort is 9 minutes away, and both the Country Club and the lake are 5. D-Cabin has an exterior security camera.

Check-out at these two cabins is 9:00 am; at the other homes in this article it's 10:00 am.

What we did for guests

We host guests at Snowmass Lodge, and between their stays a local cleaning team turns the lodge over and restocks it for us. One guest we hosted there wrote in a March 2026 VRBO review that the place was very clean and well taken care of, with the hot tub ready. The same review mentioned one chore: guests take trash to the dumpster. At Overlook Oasis, Krystina was very responsive to a guest we hosted, whose July 2026 Airbnb review also called the cabin extremely clean. We hosted a family at Five Elks Lodge who extended by an extra night. Their August 2026 Airbnb review called the lodge clean and good for a stay with kids. Krystina and the team were responsive and helpful to a guest group who reviewed us on Google in September 2026 and wrote that their home was "perfect for our group, with plenty of bedrooms."

How we look after a big house between groups

Turnovers happen same-day where needed. If something breaks, we coordinate the repair. We list each home on Airbnb and VRBO as well as our own direct booking platform, and every listing feeds one shared calendar, which is why there are no double bookings. Entry is by smart keypad, and you get a mobile guidebook. Our property pages show the neighborhood, and we send the exact address once your stay is confirmed.

Booking for a group

Check-in is 4:00 pm at every home. Whoever books has to be 25 or older, and the homes don't host events or parties. If you book direct you get the same team, without a platform's fee added to your total. The review panel on our site shows a 4.87 average across 200 reviews.
